CRITIQUE

I would like to think the Great Dane Club for allowing me to judge my much loved breed.
I found the breed much changed since I last judged but would not have changed anything I did on the day. How thrilling to award my CC winner his 37th ticket enabling him to break the Breed Record, my only criticism was the handling, I am ultra critical having taught Ringcraft for many years. How you present your dog makes such a difference.

SPECIAL VETERAN DOG 3
1. J & J Black – Bandwar Happy As Larry JW ShCM. Seven year Harlequin, good strong head deep chest moved well for his age.
2. Mrs J & Miss J Flanagan – Dainmajik The Enchanter For Soupury.

MINOR PUPPY DOG 5
1. Mr M.Griffin & Mrs B.Grierson – Griffindane Athos. Just over 6 months, super baby strong head, good shoulder lay nice deep chest and good turn of thigh. Moved well once he settled. Very much a baby, I found him very promising. Very pleased to award him Best Puppy and also Best Puppy In Show.
2. Mrs C.Mackenzie – Carsan Bootstrap Bill. Very nice black lovely head and moved well unfortunately he was mouth shy very skittish which let him down.

PUPPY DOG 8
1. Mrs & Mr Thurlby – Justinian Lord Bradley. Good head and neck leading to nice lay of shoulder, nice depth of chest plenty of bone. Moved as he should happy boy in the ring.
2. Mrs R Draysey – Jaemluk Jaque Of Clunton. Well marked Harlequin good strong head nice shoulder lay, deep chest moved with drive once he settled. Needs stronger handling which let him down today.

JUNIOR DOG 10
1. Burns, Armour & Hooker – Garsak Sir Rod Stewart. Strong head with dark mask nice straight front good bone, deep chested and lovely turn of thigh. Very happy to award him Reserve CC.
2. Mrs S.Bishton – Jaydania Bjorn Borg. Lovely boy good head, nice front deep chest moved well.

YEARLING DOG 4
1. Miss Cranfield –  Zefather’s Heartbreaker. Nice Fawn boy good head well muscled and moved well.
2. Mr & Mrs J. Martin – Thebyreblue True Valour At Keishant

NOVICE DOG 1
1. Mrs S Southgate – Bombardier Boy Via Leamap. Cannot comment as this exhibitor left the ring!

POST GRADUATE DOG 7
1. Lady J.Ingram– Dainmajik The Wizard. Each dog in this class was of a different type making it very difficult. This boy is good in head nice front correct shoulders with good movement.
2. Mrs S.Pepper – Danemoor Black Watche For Sarawen.

LIMIT DOG 8
1. Mr & Mrs Donnelly – Primus Breakin News. Nice head with dark eye, good length of neck to correct shoulder lay deep chest, moved as he should.
2. Miss Mitchell – Garsak Sir Nigel At Elsimba. Strong head good length of neck nice shoulder lay, deep chest not moving so well today.

OPEN DOG 5
1. Webb & Morgan Evans – Ch Canmore Stop And Stare At Castleon. Have watched this dog with interest but going over him was a different matter. Strong outstanding boy lovely head with dark eye deep chested leading to well muscled rear. Moved with drive yet elegance and really enjoyed his day. Was so pleased to award him his 27th Ticket and Best In Show. Well deserved.
2. Williams & Chappell – Ch Selmalda The journey. Very difficult choice both these dogs worthy of winning and both very different. Lovely head and expression nice length of neck good shoulders with good spring of rib also moving with drive. Could swap places easily.

SPECIAL OPEN FAWN DOG 1
1. Mr & Mrs Brady – Garsak Sir Zachary. Although this boy stood alone I was happy to award 1st place nice head good front. Just needs some firm handling to get the best out of him.

SPECIAL OPEN BRINDLE DOG 3
1st Mr & Mrs Harrison – Droolakiss Re Attraction Via Emaneaz. I was very disappointed with this colour and found them lacking in movement and quality.
2. Mrs & Miss Flanagan – Dainmajik The Enchanter For Soupury.

SPECIAL OPEN BLACK DOG 5
1. Mrs S.Pepper – Danemoor Black Watche For Sarawen. Nice head dark eye, good front moved better in this class than in previous.
2. Mr & Mrs J Bollons – Bandwar For Aces High.

1. Mrs P.Price – Leamap Chivas Regal JW. Lovely boy good masculine head strong front good bone & moved with drive.
2. Mr & Mrs Martin – Thebyreblue True Valour At Keishant.

1. Miss D.Shadbolt – Akura Final Frontier. Lovely Marked boy nice head good reach of neck good shoulder and spring of rib. Well muscled rear and moved with drive.

3rd – Shalrace The Maestro, Res – El Gasparo Vom Hause Black Diamond (Imp Deu).

SPECIAL OPEN MANTLE 2
