The Great Dane Club Championship Show Held at Crick on Sunday 5th August 2012.

I was pleased to be called upon to decide the BIS between the two CC winners at this well run show.

Bitch CC Winner

Day & Fry’s Vanmore Simply the Best

A two year old brindle bitch of compact build well off for bone and substance. Good angles both fore and aft. Inclined to loose her topline on the move, expect this to improve when fully mature.

Dog CC Winner

Hurst & Armour’s Ch Garsak Sir Fernando

Upstanding three year old fawn with clean lines everywhere, excels in neck with lovely shoulders. Good width and depth of chest and firm topline kept his shape on the move. Was pleased to award him Best In Show.

Special Award Event – Dogs

Judge Linda Coleman

I would like to thank the G.D.C. for giving me the opportunity to judge at this show and the exhibitors for supporting the entry, unfortunately marred by absentees as seems to be the norm. these days.I was pleased to see all mouths correct and all tails of a good length and carried correctly.

Puppy 4 [2]
1st. Garsak Sir Noal of Jaydania
Fawn of 7 months. Lovely outline with good angles fore and aft. Well arched clean neck and through the shoulders. Balanced head though could be narrower in back skull. Nice feet, good croup and covered the ground well and was true both ways.
2nd. Onabonn O’shea
9 months harle.Lovely long lean head in balance with his body.Finer all through and not as well developed yet. Movement erratic and difficult to assess.

P.G. 14 [6]
1st. Internos the Heavyweight
Heavyweight he is not. Blue, apart from being too steep in croup I felt he was a lovely dog, elegant but still masculine with a very good front and bend of stifle and he moved very well. So many dogs today looked good standing in profile then fell apart on the move.
2nd.Leyshen Portia’s happy lad at Pseudemore
Nicely marked brindle with very good front angulation. Strong arched neck.Correct eye colour which gave him a gentle expression. Again steep in croup and not as good in hind angulation as the 1st.
3rd. Mydane Maple

Open 7 [4]
1st. Bourntwyn faithful and true
Young upstanding fawn with a strong arched neck giving him a very noble bearing. Good angles and covered a lot of ground with that lithe spring in his step. Nice feet, balanced head. I feel there is more to come from this dog when fully mature.
2nd. Stegill Heavy Hogwarter
Fawn with lovely feet. Masculine balanced head with nice dark eyes. A little steep in upper arm so not quite the scope of 1 on the move.
3rd. Ch. Garsak Fernando.
